Azuka Theatre’s Spotlight Series: New Play Readings presents
The Arsonists
By Jacqueline Goldfinger
Directed by Allison Heishman
Featuring: Sarah Gliko & Steven Rishard
Wilma Theater Lobby | 265 S. Broad Street

Set deep in a Florida swamp, The Arsonists is a father-daughter tale of grief, loss and redemption. Inspired by Greek tragedy and Southern Gothic fiction, it is a contemporary American myth that explores the relationship between parent and child in that small space between death and life, the last breath before the awakening. Currently nominated for the Weissberger Award and the Blackburn Prize, the newest play by Azuka Playwright in Residence, Jacqueline Goldfinger will complete the trilogy of Southern Gothic plays that began with the terrible girls and continued with Skin & Bone. Come hear this hauntingly beautiful story as it continues to be developed before its world premiere with Azuka in our 16/17 Season!
