THE SPIN is an original musical drama that explores the life and work of Edward Bernays, the father of Public Relations. The story spans from his humble beginnings as a young press agent to the height of his career as “The King of PR” during the 1950’s and 60’s. Eddie must face the consequences of his chosen profession while he struggles with his career, his wife and daughter, and his relationship with his deceased uncle, Dr. Sigmund Freud. THE SPIN is a powerful illustration of the power of public opinion and a revealing portrait of a man who dared to manipulate it, pushing all of us, to this day, to buy products we don’t really need.
